​PAINTING AND SCULPTURE COME TOGETHER IN MARRIAGE, THE NEW  3-D CANVAS

Hi, I'm Tony Calderone, an artist who likes to oil paint on canvas and sculpt marble.  Yes, I like to express myself through art.  I have made a number of oil paintings, but I wasn't satisfied how they looked on the wall.

I thought to myself there as to be a way to make my paintings jump off the canvas, if you know what I mean.

I experimented with different ways to flex the canvas, hoping to create a 3-D effect.  I finally came up with an concept that was physically possible to make.  Truth be told, I took my finished paintings and went through the trouble of cutting the canvas from the existing frame and mounting them to the bowed canvas hardboard, not such an easy task, I had to be really carefuly not to spoil my finished paintings.  I've got to tell you I was really surprised how the paintings really came to life, almost like a marriage between a painting and a sculpture.

Here is some of my work, presented in the 3-D canvas.  I hope you can actually visualize some of your work in this kind of format.  It is really weird how the painting takes on a different prospective, it actually tricks your eyes, because your brain and eyes are not used to seeing a painting that has a 3-D presentation.

Cost per canvas and frame is $ 29.00 each.
